Acting through the Power of Intention

C

Becky, LP84

We head down to the cinema, buy our tickets and popcorn; snuggle into our seats to gear up for an emotional rollercoaster on the big screen. Then we think, “How on earth do actors have the power to move us to tears within a span of 90 minutes?”

Truth be told, Acting isn’t just about lights, camera & action! The passion we see characters portray through their story in TV and Film isn’t something we start to believe as an illusion but a reminder that we can live our lives equally passionate too.

When was the last time you were fully present in your day, conscious of your experiences and went all out with a smile on your face? In this workshop, come, explore and rediscover each moment of your life with clarity through the power of intention through language, movement and have fun with script dialogues!

The Art of Aikido

Wai Yip, LP30

Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (often referred to by his title 'O Sensei' or 'Great Teacher'). On a purely physical level it is an art involving some throws and joint locks that are derived from ju-jutsu as well as some sword art. Aikido focuses not on punching or kicking opponents, but rather on using their own energy to gain control of them or to throw them away from you. It is not a static art, but places great emphasis on motion and the dynamics of movement.

Upon closer examination, practitioners will find from Aikido what they are looking for, whether it is applicable self-defense technique, spiritual enlightenment, physical health or peace of mind.

Some myths about Swing Dance: It’s cheesy/ Guys must throw the girls around in the air/ It is not sexy, the way Salsa is/ It is for old and old fashion folks/ The music is dull/ I don’t like Jazz music so I won’t be interested in it/ Jazz is old & out/ You need a partner to start learning/ You must have dancing experience.

Len & Ana are here to teach Swing Dance and prove that it is fun, accessible, a great way to make friends and to exercise as well!
